T. Alan Newton is an award-winning filmmaker and professor originally from Guston, Kentucky. He received a BFA in Theatre from Western Kentucky University and an MFA in Film Production from Florida State University.
He is a previous Academy Nichol Fellowship in Screenwriting quarterfinalist, a Sundance Screenwriters Lab semifinalist, and recipient of an Al Smith Artist Fellowship in Play/Screenwriting from the Kentucky Arts Council.
Outside of filmmaking and teaching, his other interests include creating fiction, art, and music. Wikipedia would consider him a Xennial, which explains why he’s always on his computer but still prefers to write longhand.
He lives in Kentucky with his wife and son.
